Ciocc – Mockba ’80

  • The Bike – Early 80’s Ciocc Mockba ’80.
  • The Story – Limited edition bike built by Ciocc to celebrate its success in the 1980 Moscow Olympics (A Polish rider won a silver medal in the road race on a Ciocc).  Acquired through eBay.  Bike came out of Portland and in pretty poor shape.  It was once chained to a lamp post for a long period of time until the police took it and auctioned it off.  It was also missing some of the panto parts and came with one sew-up and one modern clincher wheel (no tires).  The seller refused to send the pedals claiming that they were for display only and that he was selling the bike for less than what he got it for from the police auction.  Chain-ring came from Steve Maasland.
  • The Cool Factor – Nicely made, semi-rare bike with full panto group.

  1. I’ve got a Ciocc Mockba 80 too, but it must be an older version because it’s made with all white decals and the components weren’t labeled with the brand name; it was just the original Brev. Campagnolo parts. (90 percent of the bike is origional.) the serial number is 54.

    • I have seen Ciocc with all white decals (without the colorful ‘C’) but not sure about a Mockba. Most of the ones I’ve seen are pretty much like the one I have with the pantographed Campy parts. They also have the lug cutouts.
