- The Bike – 1983 (or soon after) De Rosa Professional (also commonly referred to as the Super Prestige) with full Pantograph Super Record Group.
- The Story – Acquired through eBay. Paid a fair sum for the bike but the seller took it upon himself to list the value at almost three times that on the UPS declaration to “protect himself” for shipping to Canada. UPS added $65 brokerage fee plus duty, Provincial Sales Tax and GST (National Sales Tax) of almost 20% of the declared value to the delivery. It turned out to be an expensive bike. When the bike arrived, it had a silver mist over parts of the bike that looked like someone spray-painted too close to it. Fortunately, I was able to remove the over-spray without any damage to the paint or decals.
- The Cool Factor – A most brilliant red that only the Italians can do. Full panto group on one of my favorite riding bikes.
