- The Bike – 1984 Colnago Regal with the very rare Colnago 30th Anniversary Group.
- The Story – I acquired the 30th Anniversary Group about 15 years ago. It came on a lowly Super but looked virtually new. The cut out of the clover and the gold inlay look so crude as if someone did it with a Dremal tool. I had been very actively looking for a Arabesque or Regal for over 10 years until I finally came upon this one. Since the Arabesque lugs were introduced by Colnago in 1984 to commemorate its 30th year in business, the bike and the group should be together. Three of my Colnagos have crimped tubings and they are all different. This one has the Gilco tubes which has a hexagonal profile with 6 groves around the tubing.
- The Cool Factor – It is rather unusual to come upon a Regal and to see one with the complete 30th Anni Group……WOW!
